How to Install Text Recovery Converter and Fixing Damaged Files. Text Recovery Converter is an additional facility in Ms Word to open and repair the files damaged. Unfortunately, this facility is not installed automatically. You must install it by yourself. Here are the tips how to install Text Recovery Converter:
- Open the Control Panel. Double-click on the icon “Add and Remove Programs”.
- On the dialog box “Add and Remove Programs”, search for the installed MS Office programs, such as Microsoft Office Professional Edition 2003.
- Click the “Change” button.
- Select “Add and Remove Feature”, then click “Next”.
- On the dialog box “Microsoft Office Setup”, give a check mark on the option of “Choose advanced Customization of Application”, then continue the process by clicking “Next”.
- On the list of existing features, search for “Converters and Filters”, then click the “+” symbol.
- Select “Text Converters” and choose “Run from My Computer”.
- Click “Update”.
After Text Recovery Converter is installed, you can use this facility to open the damaged file. How to do it? Here is the method.
- Open the Ms Word program, then click “File > Open … “
- Select the document which is damaged.
- Click the small arrow on the right side of “Open” button.
- On the drop down menu that displayed, select “Open and Repair”.
