Parental Control in Windows 7, Install Windows Live Family Safety

Parental Control in Windows 7Windows 7 doesn’t have Filter web feature default. If you want to this feature and activity report feature, so you have to install Windows Live Family Safety that is a part of Windows Live Essentials suite. With this you can blockade access to certain website, and see what report just opened by your children.

Windows Live Family Safety can be downloaded free of charge from:

http://download.live.com/familysafety

with file size 1,09 MB. Installer used is web installer, so you have to connect to internet during installing.

  1. Download, and then run Windows Live installer. Give cross on Family Safety. Click Install.
  2. Installing process and download will run automatically.
  3. After installing process is over, run Windows Live Family Safety from start menu. Insert your Windows Live ID.
  4. If login succeeds, continue give cross to account you want to monitor. In this case, your children account, of course. Click Save.
  5. And then, how to know what the children are doing while out of control? Reopen User Control on Control Panel. Choose account you want to see its activity, and choose Windows Live Family Safety.
  6. The Browser will open; insert the same Windows Live ID like before.
  7. If you succeed in login, click Activity reporting link.
  8. Choose Web activity tab, so you may see which tabs just opened by your children.
  9. If any website not good to visit, so choose the option of Block for this person only.
  10. Move to Activity Computer tab, here you can see which programs just run by your child.
  11. To filter to which sites permit to your children, click Web Filtering link. Here, you may blockade of which only safe website can be opened. Besides, here you may prohibit for not downloading it. The lack ness of Windows Live Family Safety is you have to do online or connected to internet. This can be good, because we want to know children activity, parents must not in the same location. You may monitor in a distance with the help of Internet.
