Windows OS default in hidden the system files. In XP, users can show the hidden files by opening Folder Option in Explorer. In that way, you can choose to show all the hidden files option. But in Vista, you won’t find such a feature. So, you cannot show the hidden files.

However, you can use some tips below to show the View Option in Vista:

  1. Open explorer window (In start menu, choose computer)
  2. Click organize button and choose Folder and Search Option
  3. In Folder window Option, you will see three main settings: Hidden Files and folders; Hide Extension for Known File Types; and Hide Protected Operating System Files. Change to the best setting you want to.
  4. If you choose to Show Protected Operating System Files, there will be a confirmation window to warn you.
  5. In the same window, you can see the AppData Folder.
